Day 1 " The Arrival"
I wish they could have come with us but they had their fair share of cruising after being in the Bahamas a couple weeks ago. Check in was pretty easy and fast, there was a bit of a line but nothing extremely long and unbearable.
My first look at the Carnival Glory ship was almost magical. Wow they can fit up to 3,500 people into this thing. We look so small next to it. I can’t wait to hit up the dining area (I had only had breakfast at this point so we were all starving).
We finally waved good bye to Miami and left the gloomy day behind us. Hello fun ship.
Our Adventure began on the Lido Deck where our staterooms where located. We were in a hurry to leave our luggage in our room to make our way to the red sail café and gorge on all the amazing foods they had there. We couldn’t help ourselves to eating a bit of everything. Food was accessible at all times with no limits at all. Controlling ourselves was really hard especially since our room was located on the same deck. We ended our evening with a live size game of chess and just catching up with the buds that I hadn’t seen in a couple of years. Our dinner seating time was at 8:15 so after just a few hours of eating at Lido we made our way to the platinum room to enjoy our first dinner on board.
Day 2 “Fun at Sea”
Waking up to a breakfast buffet was one of the best things onboard. We had the option of being seated and served from a menu with more elegant options, or just hitting up our favorite place on the ship the “LIDO DECK”. This deck is where you can find all you can to break your fast from any style omelets, cereal, bagels, oatmeal, fruits, more eggs, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, any breakfast item you can think of they probably have there.

We explored the ship and found the Casino where Matt lost and won but mostly lost money gambling. We found dance clubs, cafés, showrooms, fun shops and a whole lot of fun onboard.

We ended our day playing Bingo and started our night with Formal night where we dressed in our better attire to watch the sunset and meet at our designated dining area.

Day 3 “Cozumel Mexico”

Hello Cozumel, We docked at San Miguel and began our adventure onshore. We hadn’t made any reservations for excursions and really had no plan as to what we wanted to do. Our conclusion was to wing it and do whatever we felt like at the moment. That’s what I call being “spontaneous”. As soon as we got out of the shopping area we were offered all kinds of tours for cheaper rates than what the ship had to offer. We couldn’t resist and finally chose a private taxi tour. For $35 we were escorted by Victor, a taxi driver who offered to take us to the best scenes in Cozumel as well as wait for us as long as we wanted to take photos and explore. He was nice enough to answer all questions we had throughout the drive. He also promised to bring us back to the port before our ship departed. Gosh only 7 hours to explore Cozumel, I think this is impossible.

El Mirador was absolutely stunning, once we arrived we bought some fresh coconut water and beer at a small tent shop, and we were off to admire the beautiful scenery. Can I just stay here forever?

We later made our way to Playa Palancar where we would spend the rest of our afternoon. Our tour excursion included snorkeling gear, facility use, and kayaks. Anything else would cost little extra. Jackie and Melissa decided to rent a jet ski and ride along the lovely Mexican Beach. Rumor had it that Jackie is a far better driver.

Matt and I sunbathed on the beach and enjoyed a peaceful wait for the next boat to do a snorkeling tour of the Palancar reefs.

“I hope I get to see some turtles”, is what I said before leaving Miami.
After a short boat ride out and a jump into the
blue first thing our tour guide notices is a turtle. Mission Accomplished.
Palancar Reef was full of life and we got a front row seat to see it all. The fish couldn’t stay away and swam with us from reef to reef.
After a long day of exploration we wanted some real Mexican food so who would be better to ask than a local Mexican himself "Victor". Our taxi driver told us about where all the tourist usually go eat at but it turns out those places aren’t really Authentic Mexican joints. So we asked him where is it that he goes to get his lunch, breakfast, or dinner before work. And there it was. He spotted out this lunch truck on the side of the road where they were serving meat right off of the grill with fresh homemade tortillas. We grabbed some shrimp, bisteak, and mixed tacos, added some fire salsa, cilantro and cebolla and again happy tummys.
Now back to the Ship but before that we raced to Fat Tuesday to grab a hurricane and race to the bottom of our cups. Team Mari and Matt against Team Jackie and Meli, unfortunately Matt and I lost due to a brain freeze from the icy drink that slowed us down (Meli and Jackie were just better at sucking..lol)

After breakfast we were met at the port by a tour rep for our Extreme Cave Tubing adventure. We all got on a van and drove about 1hr out of the city to Jaguar Paw. Jenny was our tour guide and as she drove us, she pointed out some very interesting historical facts. Belize was previously ruled by the British and about 28 years ago it won its independence making it one of the youngest countries in Central America.
We learned that their national language is English and many will speak Spanish and Creole. Out tour guide is a Mayan descendant and lives in a village where only Mayan descendants live. They viewed one of these mountains as the sleeping giant. Can you see it?
After our tour we were given lunch of an authentic Belizean platter that consisted of chicken coleslaw and rice and beans all cooked on fire ovens made out of stones. They started us off with some fresh local fruits like pineapple, papaya, watermelon, and cantaloupe to quench out thirst. This was one our favorite part of the journey as always, the food.
Jenny also stopped at a local vendor where we were able to buy some of Belize's National beer.
Good Bye Belize!
I didn’t know what to expect from the zip-lining tour. All we knew is that we would be zip-lining through Canopies in the forest of Roatan off of on 14 different platforms. We were a little lost at first because we had to go out of bay port to find our tour guide over a hill. Lots of walking but we finally made it to them with the help of local authorities that led us the right way. It was a little scary to hear them say, “Do not talk to anyone and until you get to the bottom of that hill where you will see your tour company”. We finally got on board and the first 20 minutes of the excursion began with some Honduran scenery.
Matt and I decided to go tandem off of a platform and as we approached our stop it became hard to brake with our hands. If it wasn’t for the tour guides arm that quickly stopped us, we would have ran into a tree. We decided never to ride tandem again. The very last platform was the highest and fastest. We were at approximately 200ft off the ground and traveling at 1000ft of threaded wire cables and we could have easily reached 35mph, this was the best experience ever.

Hasta Pronto Roatan!

This snorkeling trip was Meli and Jackie’s first time so it took a little while to get used to it. Our tour guide was great and made sure to stay close to make everyone feel comfortable.

Day 4 “Belize”
Belize City has only two traffic lights in the entire city. They use roundabouts to control the traffic. Unfortunately I was unable to take pictures of the cave tubing since my camera was not water proof.
Day 5 “Roatan Honduras”
Once we arrived at the zip-lining site, we were given lockers to put our backpacks away. Our zip line guides offered to carry our cameras for us so they can get picture of all of us while they waited for us at each platform. This was great because there was no way any of us were going to get our hands off the lines.
Matt and I decided to go tandem off of a platform and as we approached our stop it became hard to brake with our hands. If it wasn’t for the tour guides arm that quickly stopped us, we would have ran into a tree. We decided never to ride tandem again. The very last platform was the highest and fastest. We were picked up at the end of our tour and driven back to where we left our bags. Our guide took us to a private beach where we were offered a complementary beer or drink on the selected menu. I had to try their national beer since they has several to choose from. We enjoyed the rest of our tour relaxing by the beach and drinking beer and piña coladas. This was paradise!
Day 6 “Grand Cayman”
We had a glass full of silly for breakfast. This is us being bored while we waited to tender of the ship.
Our day was gloomy and rainy but that wasn’t going to stop us from adventuring this lovely gem. We jumped on a bus and we toured the city. Our tour guide “Jake”, pointed out the Johnson and Johnson vacation home, a Ritz Condo of which Bill Gates purchased an the entire 7th floor, and later we made our way to Hell.
Everyone was asked for their consent to going to hell, if anyone had any objections he offered the option to be dropped off at the church on the opposite side of Hell. No one refused since we held Jake to his promised that he would not leave anyone in Hell, and off we went.
After having a hell of a time in Hell, we got the hell out of there and made our way to the rum cake factory where the rest of the crew had free rum cake tasting as well as all kinds of rum shots. Meli, Matt, and Jackie left very happy from there as that had just completed our day to be a great one.
